Do you know what he said there? Or are you just assuming that he served up tea and cookies?

Is there a rule that says politicos should only talk to groups that they wholeheartedly endorse? Does speaking to someone automatically mean that you support everything they've ever said or done?

(I'm worried here, because I once spoke before a College Republicans group. Does that mean that I'm now a radical right-winger?)

Full disclosure: I managed David's campaign in the fall of 1998, and did his campaign website in 2006.

You are right, I don't know what Bragdon said. Maybe he delivered a fire-and-brimstone oratory and was booed out of the hall. I kind of doubt it however.

Giving a speech to Republicans, one of the two major national parties in the US, is far different than giving a speech to a radical right-wing fringe group.

I recall meeting Mr. Bragdon at a party maybe 10 years ago... at the time, I thought, wow, this Harvard-educated, articulate, and progressive guy is going places. I don't know what road-to-Damascus conversion occurred, but Bragdon has lost that side and has folded into something quite different.

My background: I am a member of Friends of Marion County. I worked very hard to help M 49 pass. I belong to numerous pro-land use planning and environmental groups.

I attended the OIA meeting to see what the enemy was saying. Bragdon turned out to be one of the enemies. He was HORRID and is proposing several very harmful things as a member of The Big Look.

The entire March 15 OIA conference was videotaped. I also took copius notes.

There is also a story from yesterday (March 31) on the OPB web regarding the upcoming recommendations by The Big Look. Listen to the audio. They will be doing some town hall meetings, but that is probably window dressing. We all need to turn out for those.

Kari,

Why are you so damn quick to lay our body down in David Bragdon's defense, when Bragdon himself has seen no need at all to explain his sellout to OIA.

Maybe you have become a radical right-winger. At the very least. I serious question your judgment in picking forked-tongued politicos and wiping their websites for them.
